The starting point

An investment recommendation and portfolio optimization pilot suddenly became a commitment to launch to customers within two weeks. I was assigned responsibility for making it happen.

Understand before committing

I quickly assessed the solution, estimated the remaining work with internal and external teams, and made the constraints in time, infrastructure and capacity explicit.

The scope decision

I negotiated a minimum viable scope and a revised plan using concrete information. I coordinated the work and also contributed to development.

What we delivered

Within 32 days, we launched an MVP with authentication, portfolio recommendations, execution-engine integration, portfolio return evaluation and integration with valued portfolios.

Managing the transition

The release was coordinated with internal and external teams, security, risk and business leaders. Daily controls and temporary manual processes addressed critical outstanding items. These were retired as subsequent increments were delivered.

THE KEY DECISION

Agree on what we could realistically deliver, what needed to wait and how to operate during the transition.

RESULT / PROGRESS

An MVP in production with agreed scope and a plan for subsequent releases.
