Artesano: preparing an idea to serve real customers

From viability and costing to rehearsing the service experience together.

CASE 04Before the
first coffee.

Rehearse, learn and prepare the team

BEFORE THE PILOT

Rehearsal is part of building.

We set up the station and practiced as a team before serving friends and family. Rehearsals helped us review orders, service and missing pieces.

The decision was to test the operation together before the first customer pilot.

From idea to operations

At Artesano Coffee Co., I have contributed to market and viability analysis, planning, prioritization, training, the website, customer service and product costing.

Rehearse before the pilot

Before our first friends-and-family pilot, I saw that we needed to rehearse the service process. I proposed practice sessions involving the entire team.

What we learned

Those sessions allowed us to practice customer service and order intake, identify missing items and prepare for service.

Decisions with real consequences

Entrepreneurship has given me direct exposure to the consequences of each decision: how work is organized, what a product costs and what experience the customer receives.

THE KEY DECISION

Test operations with the team before opening them to customers.

RESULT / PROGRESS

The team practiced service and identified missing items before the friends-and-family pilot.

THE NEXT CONVERSATION

What challenge
are you working on?

If your team needs to understand a problem, weigh alternatives or turn an initiative into reality, I’d like to hear the context.
